At least 72 hours; longer if possible

National figure

3

days

The government's guide and the 72 Hours recommendation both ask households to manage on their own for at least 72 hours, or three days. The guide adds that preparing for longer is a good idea if you can.

“Suosituksen mukaan kotitalouksien tulisi varautua selviytymään itsenäisesti häiriötilanteessa vähintään 72 tuntia eli kolme vuorokautta.”

According to the recommendation, households should be prepared to cope independently for at least 72 hours, or three days, in the event of an incident.
